Inspired by All the Little Things #72

Welcome to another week of fabulous inspiration from the Inspired by All the Little Things team!

I admit I was stumped this week by the inspiration photo. The white on white look is what I was stuck on and couldn't figure out how to make it work. My end result veered off my original idea by a bit, but I still like it.

A vellum stitched border, some sparkly silver trees (from a retired Simon Says Stamp die), and a sentiment from my favourite Christmas stamp set this season put this together quickly.

Inspired by All the Little Things #71

Welcome to another week of fabulous inspiration from the Inspired by All the Little Things team!

I LOVE that zebra print chair!!

This year when making holiday cards I've decided that if I'm going to make one card, I might as well make two, or three, or four...so for this week's challenge I made four! They are all similar using the same stamped Hero Arts image (retired) that has been heat embossed, and the same patterned paper from My Favorite Things. The card shown on the top of the stack is heat embossed in white, with some silver thread and a silver sequin to finish it off.

Inspired by All the Little Things #70

Welcome to another week of fabulous inspiration from the Inspired by All the Little Things team!

Those cozy colours and fall leaves caught my eye. I'd love to have that scarf wrapped around me as I sipped that cup of coffee. :)

I did some creative masking with the Neat & Tangled Maple Leaves Journaling Card stamp set and stamped it so only the leaves were showing without the open space for the sentiment. Distress Markers were used for watercolouring it all in. The sentiment was heat embossed with white and adhered using foam tape. It's all backed on some white woodgrain paper and a kraft card base.

Crazy 4 Challenges- Inspire

It's my final week as guest designer for Crazy 4 Challenges and I'd like to thank them for having me design alongside them this month! This week for C4C409 our theme is in honour of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month. Create a card that is inspirational/encourages and uses pink somewhere on your design.

For the florals I used Bohemian Garden from Ellen Hutson. After masking and stamping the flowers and leaves, I coloured them in using Zig markers. The sentiment is from Mirror, Mirror. Some patterned paper and matte black sequins with a drop of Stickles in the center finish it off.

I hope you will play along this week. I can't wait to see what you create! Thanks for stopping in, and have a great day!

Inspired by All the Little Things #69

Welcome to another week of fabulous inspiration from the Inspired by All the Little Things team!

This week our inspiration is all about the autumn season. Cozy quilts, rustic wood, fall wreaths and rich shades of orange, gold and brown! There were so many elements in the photo above and I tried to incorporate all of them in to my card.

I inked up the lovely wreath from Wheat Wreath by CAS-ual Fridays using Distress inks. That wreath is probably my favourite autumn element from any stamp set. Over top is stamped a sympathy sentiment from Winnie & Walter. There are so many words in this big set that creating your own personalized sentiment is easy. A few ink splatters, some woodgrain paper and twine, and a few enamel dots all add to the panel which is adhered to a dark brown card base.

Crazy 4 Challenges- Sketch

It is my third week as the guest stamper for Crazy 4 Challenges and we have a fun sketch for you to follow this week! Let the sketch inspire you and link up at the main site.

As you can see, I switched out the oval in the sketch for a fun butterfly! I inked up the largest butterfly from Butterfly Dreams by Reverse Confetti and die cut it. It is adhered with foam tape over top of four open rectangles in pretty pastel colours.
The entire panel is backed on a light grey card base with Diamond Stickles glitter all around the edges. Fun fact- I love butterflies and have two butterfly tattoos!

Thanks for stopping in today and have a GREAT day!

Inspired by All the Little Things #68

Welcome to another week of fabulous inspiration from the Inspired by All the Little Things team!

I love the rich colours of the photo and the floral bouquet, and drew my inspiration from that.

I stamped the floral spray from Kind Soul by WPlus9 along the length of my watercolour cardstock and coloured it in using Zig watercolour markers. On a strip of black cardstock I heat embossed the sentiment from Fresh Cut Wreaths in white. The panel was trimmed down and matted with a strip of gold sparkle cardstock along the top and bottom. It's all adhered to a Blueberry Sky card base.

Crazy 4 Challenges- Desserts!

This week at Crazy 4 Challenges we are celebrating National Dessert Day! Go on and get creative making a card with any sort of yummy dessert on it. Cake, candy, pie, milkshakes...whatever your version of dessert is. :)

I am not a big dessert fan. Being a Type 1 diabetic I *can* eat any sort of sweet treat with the help of my trusty insulin pump, but I prefer not to. A good ol' piece of candy or two (like the gumballs above) are my go-to dessert. Something small but tasty!
For the main image I used Lawn Fawn's Sweet Smiles stamped in Versafine Black Onyx and watercoloured with Distress Markers. The stitched border around the main panel comes from Avery Elle and a few sequins finish it off.

Head on over to Crazy 4 Challenges and see what the other design team members have come up with. Play along with us! I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Inspired by All the Little Things #67

Happy World Cardmaking Day and welcome to another week of fabulous inspiration from the Inspired by All the Little Things team!

Aren't those colours rich and elegant? I was inspired by all the colours and stamped my creation with shades a little more saturated than the inspiration photo.

I used the Concord & 9th Flower Turnabout stamp set for my background. Using the MISTI it is quite easy to get an A2 card panel full of beautiful flower in a few easy steps. The sentiment is from Best Hugs by Simon Says Stamp

Crazy 4 Challenges- World Cardmaking Day!

Happy World Cardmaking Day! I am excited to be guest designing with Crazy 4 Challenges today and this entire month. The theme for this week is ANYTHING GOES. Since it's a special day out here in the cardmaking world, make any sort of card your heart desires.. :)

I created a pastel rainbow out of cardstock strips, trimmed it down, and adhered it using foam tape to the card base. The sentiment is from Amazing Messages by Simon Says Stamp. I coloured it in with Copic markers and added a few sequins.

Today is such a fun day for us cardmakers! I hope you all have a great day. You can link up your creation at the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Inspired by All the Little Things #66

Welcome to another week of fabulous inspiration from the Inspired by All the Little Things team!
That beautiful burst of pink was my inspiration this week.  I used the Sunshine Turnabout stamp from Concord & 9th to get the look I was aiming for.

After stamping the turnabout stamp four times with various shades of pink ink, I trimmed the panel down and adhered it to a pink card base. The flower and sentiment are all from the same stamp set. What you can't see in the photo is that I used my Wink of Stella clear glitter marker to colour in all the white areas of the panel. There is some serious SHINE to this card. On the right side of my blog you'll find a link to my Instagram account where you can see a little video that shows the shimmer and shine a little clearer.

Inspired by All the Little Things #65

Welcome to another week of fabulous inspiration from the Inspired by All the Little Things team!

I'd say that fabulous inspiration photo is perfect for fall, but here in Southwestern Ontario we are still experiencing some serious summer weather! I will soak up the sun as long as I can, but at the same time am looking forward to crisp autumn days.

My card today uses stamps and dies from My Favorite Things. The squirrels from Harvest Buddies were stamped, die cut, and then coloured with Copic markers. The sentiment is from that set as well, and had some Daffodil ink sponged around the edges. All the elements were adhered to the Stitched Mini Rectangle die, and that was adhered using foam adhesive to the patterned paper. A kraft card base instead of my usual white keeps it rustic looking.

Inspired by All the Little Things #64

Welcome to another week of fabulous inspiration brought to you by the Inspired by All the Little Things challenge.

I love the gorgeous transition of copper to teal on those jars. Just stunning! Although I didn't have any copper embossing powder on hand, I did have rose gold which gave me the look I was going for.

On a white cardstock stitched panel I swiped a bright blue ink across the paper, leaving it streaky and not fully saturated in some parts. Once it was dry I swiped Versamark ink down the panel, sprinkled on the rose gold embossing powder, and heat set. I repeated this a few times to get the look I wanted. My sentiment and focal point is a gorgeous die cut from Pinkfresh Studio called Bright Side of Life. The entire panel is adhered to a white card base.

2017 Card Design Superstar contest!

It's time for another Card Design Superstar contest at My Favorite Things! I love how it challenges me to create to the best of my abilities and think outside the box, learn new techniques and introduces me to new-to-me cardmakers.

I LOVE bright, bold and sparkly and stayed true to my nature for my entry to the Clean & Simple Genius category. Also, may I point out that I would REALLY like to be given the label of genius in anything. I feel like that would earn me some serious respect with my kids! As in R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Have fun with that song in your head all day folks. ;)

My creation started off with a Sweet Tooth card base, with the smaller of the Peek-a-Boo Wonky Windows die cut in the upper half of the card. Below it in a crisp black ink I stamped the 'happy birthday' sentiment from Handwritten Happiness. Adhered behind the window are strips of coloured cardstock in rainbow order- Orange Zest, Daffodil, Sour Apple, Lush Lagoon, Sno Cone, Grape Jelly, and Razzle Berry. The final touch was adding a layer of Diamond Stickles over the entire rainbow for some serious glitter and shine. Glitter is always a winner in my house.  Really though, once you spill it, it NEVER goes away. Glitter everywhere and always.

Thank you so much for stopping in! Good luck to all the other participants and I can't wait to see all of YOUR cards too. So fun! Have a great day.

Yay! Our summer break is over and Inspired by All the Little Things is back for another season of bringing you fabulous inspiration to make your cardmaking fun and easy.

Here is a refresher on how the challenge works:
  1. Each week we will feature a Creative Guest Designer and an Inspiration Challenge.
  2. There are 4 of us on the team and we will each "design" a card for our hostess week. We each "host" one week in a month.
  3. The Creative Guest Designer will also share a project based on the Inspiration photo chosen by one of us.
  4. There will be a linky set up and you are welcome to play along with the "Inspiration" Challenge.
  5. The linky will open each Saturday at 5am (PST) and close each Thursday night at 11:59pm (PST).
  6. We will announce weekly "Stand Outs" on Saturday morning at 4am (PST)-one hour before our next challenge.

Now onto the gorgeous inspiration for this week!

Isn't that lovely? I loved the elegance, the florals, and the colours of the photo...basically all of it. :)

Glitter paper, gold embossing powder and a fabulous sentiment from My Favorite Things paired with the AMAZING Peony Bloom layering die set from Birch Press Designs helped complete my creation. The 'you' was stacked three times for dimension.

We're all so glad to be back after our hiatus, and I can't wait to see what YOU create based on this inspiration. You can link up your cards at the main blog post. Happy cardmaking!

Laugh, Smile, LOVE

Summer has flown by here and boy has our family been busy! Baseball, baseball, and more baseball it seems...and not much time for creativity. Luckily as summer winds down, there is more time for me to get crafty in my studio. I'm excited to play along today with two fun challenges!

Both the gorgeous Curtain Call- Hibiscus inspiration AND the Ellen Hutson August Pin-Sights challenge jumped out to me as I was pulling out my stamps the other day and so I happily played along. I stamped the flower and leaves from Mondo Peony in black ink and watercoloured them in with Distress markers. The sentiment is from Lovely. A stitched edge and a few clear sequins finish off the panel, and it is all adhered to a kraft card base.

I felt a little rusty getting inky and messy in my studio after a long summer hiatus, but I think I have shook all that off and am back to my creative self. :) Thanks for stopping in today and I'll see you again soon!

Muse Guest Designer

I am so excited to be the guest designer this week for the Muse challenge! This was perfect for getting me out my cardmaking funk.  I have hardly been in my crafty corner yet this summer because we have been so busy with loads of activities. It was nice to slow down and create something. I feel like I'm on a roll now! :)

Here's my card:

Do you need to go put your sunglasses on? It's crazy, isn't it?! My daughter and I have been experimenting with acrylic paint pouring on canvas this summer and I figured I could do it on a smaller scale using watercolour paper. I simply added my paints until the paper was covered, then swiped it off in a downward motion. Once it was dry I flicked on some white acrylic paint. The sentiment comes from the Say Hello dies by Concord & 9th and was adhered with foam tape for dimension. Doesn't it look straight from the 90's? So much neon! There are so many paint pouring YouTube videos out there; don't be afraid to check them out!

Head on over to the Muse challenge and play along with us! I can't wait to see how you are inspired.

Hello friends! It's a gorgeous Wednesday here in my neck of the woods and I have a happy card to share with you today for my Paper Smooches guest designer feature. It's my final Wednesday with them, and I have had SO much fun playing with their product.

I used the House Plant die and added some super cute googly eyes to it. The cup is covered with Stickles glitter. That lovely sentiment is from Kindness Sampler

Inspired by All the Little Things #62

Welcome to our last Inspired by All the Little Things challenge for the summer! We will be back in September with more amazing inspiration for you and hope you enjoy the break. The amazing Amy Kolling is our guest designer this week and you will love what she came up with. Isn't that a fun inspiration photo? So many possibilities!

Here's my creation:
I used Dotty Turnabout from Concord & 9th for my background and cut it out with a stitched rectangle die. It's adhered to the white card base with foam adhesive. The sentiment from Oh, Hello Turnabout what embossed in white on dark pink cardstock and I filled the 'hello' in with Stickles glitter. A few sequins finish it off.

Head on over to the Inspired By blog and check out what the rest of the design team came up with. We hope you'll play along with us in this last challenge for the season! Have a happy Saturday.

I'm back for another week as the June guest designer for Paper Smooches. Happily, Canada Post FINALLY delivered my new release parcel so I am playing with the latest stamps and dies this week. Many of you already have them in your hands so you know THEY ARE AWESOME.

I used Garden Blooms dies and the Kindness Sampler stamp set for my card today. I adhered the die cuts, heat embossed the sentiment and added some gold sequins filled with Stickles glitter.

Inspired by All the Little Things #61

I don't know where that gorgeous window is located, but I do know I'd love to be looking out of it! So pretty! Dreamy shades of purple/blue, florals, and that lovely window are the inspiration for this week's Inspired by All the Little Things challenge.

Here's my take on the challenge:
I die cut the Peekaboo Window from my white card base, and added some patterned paper behind it. The floral spray was coloured with Copic markers and has some Diamond Stickles added here and there. It's adhered with foam tape to pop it off the card base.  The sentiment was embossed using white embossing powder directly on the patterned paper.

Play along with us this week using the gorgeous inspiration photo as your starting point. The linky will close on Friday, 23 June at 11:55am (PST) and can be found HERE on the Inspired By blog. While you're there, check out what the rest of my talented teammates came up with!!

Check out their blog for details on how YOU can play along in their monthly challenge and win a chance at being a guest designer too! Yet again for this week, the new product has not made its way to me yet...seriously. What is UP with that?!  For today I have used older, but still fabulous stamps. :)

For my card today, I used Best Buds and paper pieced it with some pretty patterned paper. I added some shading with Copic markers and glittered up the flower centres with Stickles...because SPARKLE people. Always sparkle.  The edges of the white card base were inked with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, and I flicked on a few splatters of it as well. The sentiment is from Chit Chat

Thanks for stopping in and have an excellent Wednesday! Hugs!

Inspired by All the Little Things #60

Happy Saturday everyone! Saturday means a new Inspired by All the Little Things challenge and I'm here to show you what I created for it this week.

I love the fresh white on white look and earthy florals of the inspiration photo and made something similar for my card today. The new Fiori plates from Birch Press worked perfectly for this!

I used Fiori Plate Layer B die cut from white cardstock and layered it over a white card base. The centrepiece was created by die cutting the Thinking of You base from Concord & 9th and backing it with different coloured cardstock. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp and was cut in gold glitter paper. A few pale pink sequins were added to draw in the pink from the inspiration photo.

Hop on over to the Inspired By blog and see what the rest of my talented teammates have come up with!! I can't wait to see what you create with this lovely inspiration photo.

Paper Smooches June Guest Designer

I am super duper excited to be the June Guest Designer for Paper Smooches.

Every Wednesday in June you will see a creation from me using fabulous product from this fun company. Check out their blog for details on how YOU can play along in their monthly challenge and win a chance at being a guest designer too!

For today's card I used the Adorable Array die paired with a sentiment from Delightful Greetings.

The rainbow striped cardstock piece was made using thin strips of scrap cardstock and double sided tape. I die cut the floral piece from it and from white cardstock and paper pieced the striped parts back in for a fun inlay look. The sentiment was embossed in white on the grey card base and a few clear sequins are the finishing touch. It doesn't show well in the photo, but there are sparkly dots of Stickles in the center of each sequin for some sparkle and shine!

I'm hoping Canada Post will deliver the new release to me ASAP so next week I can show you some of this month's fabulous Paper Smooches release!

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping in!

Inspired by All the Little Things #59

Bright and beautiful florals in a lush palette of colours are the inspiration this week for the latest Inspired by All the Little Things challenge.

I stamped Kind Soul from WPlus 9 along the top and bottom corners and then die cut the panel using a stitched rectangle die. The flowers were watercoloured using Zig markers and once dry I added some details using Copic markers. The stamped sentiment and die cut "you" are from the May MFT Sketchy Flowers card kit. I used a sparkly silver embossing powder on the die cut. A few clear sequins finish off the panel and it is all adhered using foam tape to a white card base.

Happy Saturday to you all! It's time to head over to the Inspired By blog and see what the rest of my talented teammates have come up with this week! Play along with us...I'd love to see what you create using this gorgeous floral inspiration photo. Details on how to join us are here.
